As automated payment testing continues to evolve, the infrastructure supporting it has become just as important as the automation itself. Today’s payment testing environments involve multiple hardware components, software integrations, and distributed teams, requiring more than reliable test execution. They also depend on streamlined environment management, connected hardware, and scalable software infrastructure to support successful test automation.
As PaytestHub has grown, so have the expectations of the teams using it. Customers need more than access to an API – they need a simple way to configure environments, connect hardware, manage their testing infrastructure from a central platform, and better understand how their testing resources are consumed as their automation programs grow.
To support these changing requirements, PaytestLab has introduced PaytestHub Basic and PaytestCoins, providing a more structured entry point into the PaytestHub ecosystem while introducing a clearer, usage-based model for automated test execution.
How PaytestHub Basic Simplifies Payment Test Automation
Previously, customers licensed for PaytestAPI received access to the API without the surrounding platform capabilities. While this enabled automated payment testing, configuring the surrounding environment often required additional support. Setting up testing agents, connecting PaytestRobots and PaytestMux devices, and managing environments could become unnecessarily complex, particularly for customers building larger automated testing infrastructures.
As more customers adopted automated payment testing, it became clear that providing API access alone was no longer enough. Teams needed an easier way to configure and manage their environments without relying on separate setup processes or additional support.
Rather than continuing to distribute PaytestAPI independently, PaytestLab integrated it into PaytestHub and launched a Basic version, creating a more complete starting point for automated payment testing. By bringing environment configuration, user management, and essential platform capabilities together in one place, customers can now begin testing with a significantly simpler setup while becoming more closely connected to the broader PaytestHub ecosystem.
What’s Included in PaytestHub Basic
PaytestHub Basic is designed to provide the core software components required to operate an automated payment testing environment. In addition to PaytestAPI, customers now have access to tenant and environment management, user management, the integrated Card Library used to manage PaytestMux cards, Sandbox tools for validating configurations and testing integrations before deployment, and basic dashboard capabiities for managing their testing environment.
These capabilities allow teams to configure and maintain their testing infrastructure through a centralized platform instead of relying on separate tools and manual configuration processes. The result is a more streamlined onboarding experience and a simpler foundation for organizations beginning their automation journey.
PaytestHub Basic is particularly well suited for organizations integrating PaytestAPI into third-party software. Although PaytestHub Basic now includes significantly more functionality than before, it continues to be offered at the same entry-level price, providing customers with greater value while maintaining an accessible starting point. For organizations requiring advanced capabilities such as integrated test case management, reporting, detailed logs, or third-party integrations with platforms such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jira, the full PaytestHub platform continues to provide a comprehensive test management solution. Customers can seamlessly upgrade as their testing requirements grow, with existing environments, users, and PaytestCoins remaining fully intact throughout the transition. This allows organizations to expand their testing capabilities without rebuilding their existing environment or disrupting ongoing testing operations.
How PaytestCoins Scale Automated Payment Testing
Alongside PaytestHub Basic, PaytestLab has also introduced PaytestCoins, a new usage-based model designed to make automated test execution more flexible and transparent.
PaytestCoins are the usage unit for both PaytestHub Basic and the full PaytestHub platform, providing a consistent and transparent way to measure test execution across the PaytestHub ecosystem. Each executed test case currently consumes one PaytestCoin, regardless of whether validation is involved.
Customers can purchase PaytestCoin packages based on their expected annual testing activity. This provides great flexibility as testing requirements evolve while making overall platform usage easier to understand and plan for over time.
Each PaytestCoin reflects the infrastructure required to support automated payment testing, including backend processing, cloud services, AI-powered functionality, and the ongoing use of testing hardware. While individual test executions may rely on these resources differently, the model provides a predictable and transparent way to measure overall consumption.
Although both PaytestHub Basic and the full PaytestHub platform use the same one-coin-per-test execution model, PaytestCoin packages are priced differently. Because PaytestHub Basic relies on fewer cloud and AI services, its PaytestCoin packages are available at a lower cost. Customers will be able to view their PaytestCoin balance within PaytestHub. A more detailed consumption dashboard is planned for late 2026, providing greater visibility into usage trends and helping organizations better understand how testing resources are being consumed. Building for Long-Term Growth
The introduction of PaytestHub Basic and PaytestCoins represents more than a change in our go–to–market–strategy. It reflects PaytestLab’s continued focus on making automated payment testing easier to deploy, simpler to manage, and more scalable as testing environments continue to grow in complexity.
By combining essential environment management capabilities with a transparent usage model, PaytestHub provides organizations with a clear starting point for automation while supporting a natural path toward more advanced testing workflows as their requirements evolve.
